handwritten cards
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 2:26:00 PM

as i clear out my cupboards once again,
this came across my mind... "hand written cards.. are the best gifts of all. They contain the essence of memories u want to retain"
i will definitely put in more efforts in writing my cards in future.

i have cleaned out my room at different stages of my life
at different stages, I clear away different things
this time, I clear away many soft toys that I have accumulated over the years
i always take a long time when i do a thorough spring cleaning bcos i will think 3 times.. before i throw away anything.
so many years.. the ONLY thing that i dun throw out.. are cards.
they are easy to keep - they take less space and give me much enjoyment as i read the text and reminisce about the past.

as i throw out those things i didn't want to keep.. i thought to myself.. what a waste of good money... if only i can convert this to cash..

i dun know how to explain anymore..

new beginning
Wednesday, August 04, 2010 2:15:00 PM

today marks the to-be new beginnings of my life
was at DOME cafe in UOB plaza this morning
everyone looks like they are on top form - very professionally dresses, talking formally etc
but i can sense uptightness.. i wonder if I can survive if I am one of them
i for one, loves to put people at ease and i like to be at ease
are these people at ease?
no........

i love the environment though
great river view.. high ceiling.. lovely service from the cafe
i was served water the moment i sat at a table, everyone had their p's and q's

jewels
Thursday, July 29, 2010 6:47:00 AM

@ 5.5 years anniversary, my cupcake bought me real jewellery - white gold chain + pendent
^__^ max happy
now my neck dun feel so naked when i wear a nice dress out
i dun usually wear assessories, so this is great for me
simple and wearable on all occasions - just like e trusty Swatch watch SMU folks bought for me on my 21st birthday

Sidetrack to another happy news - Phoebe gave birth to bb Desiree Khoo and she is exactly one week old @ my 5.5 years anniversary! Cool.

@ 5.5 years anniversary I also witness how horrible a very senior manager treats his staff and make them all afraid of him. You do not ask your staff to drop things immediately to meet with you when they have an equally important meeting just about to start. I guess not unless you are the owner or CEO of the company. You are just a senior manager of a department. Please respect the work of others as you do to yours - only then you will create a winning team.

My learning? Give trust but make sure verifications are in black and white especially when money is involved.

resignation
Tuesday, July 20, 2010 11:51:00 PM

i tendered my resignation on Jul 9th, 2010.
this is my 1st official resignation in my life
feeling wistful that i am leaving behind a great team of colleagues.
some people whom i have come to consider as my friends
i hope to stay in touch with all of them
casey, henry, jacquelynn, geraldine, ada, angela, lyna, andre, rossze, all my psg sgp employees and managers.
i will miss serving them
of course, that aside, i will have to move on with my life.

clearing a day of leave tomorrow.

little bali
Saturday, July 03, 2010 8:21:00 AM

chilled with a bunch of close colleagues @ little bali last night.
if wasn't for the rain i would have loved to sit outdoors - more ambience
it was a great evening where drinks and food flowed but nothing beats the conversation that we had. definitely enjoyed myself thoroughly with this company.

a new MAP-mgmt assoc, was also this session. Interesting fella as we got to know him better during chillout.
He was born in Singapore, moved to HK and then to the US and now he is back here.
I would match his personality to his face at the first impression
Very rich life experience this person has.

just before chillout, I had an intense meeting with the council and I was chairing this meeting alone with the council members (some are quite senior ranked). I was very proud of myself at the end of it. I felt very high level executive, directing, influencing and managing the conversation flow and decision. Very enriching, but hard work due to all the preparations before. Of course I was brought back to reality since the action items have to be done by me. If I really was a high level executive, I wouldn't be doing the mundane shit work.

Now I can imagine myself how I would be like in the future at the top of the corporate chain! I need to be more pushy. At this point, I think I have the confidence, but I am too soft on my approach and this is not good for meeting deadlines. - note to self to be more aggressive.
I am afraid of offending people more than anything else since I do best when other people are happy around me.

I am very happy to hear feedback from my peers that I have got what it takes to be at that level.

profile
A blessed soul who meets good people all around. A strong believer that good begets good. A positive person who dreams of life being a bed of roses. Even when it's not, take it as a journey and learn from it. A kind and loving person.
