It has been a mini emotional roller coaster day (good mood momentarily ruined by some stupid "grass jellies")
Spent this day with my bestest friend - Vonnie Tham a.k.a Naturegal
We celebrated our victory in finding jobs. I hope we can stay long long in our jobs, get promoted and earn BIG money!
First thing first, we went to the temple in Bugis to pray for good luck in our new jobs. It will be the last 15th day of the lunar month before we start work. So it's a good day to pray.
Bought loads of things.. big things, little things, useful things, UNuseful things, needs and wants all satisfied in a single day. Not really, I didn't buy work clothes.
Ate dim sum for lunch cum tea at Victor's Dim Sum - it still loses to the Mong Kok Dim Sum from China town. I suggested writing to STOMP. But Von says the standard will start dropping if to many ppl knws about this. Those who attended my 21st would know how Mong Kok Dim Sum tastes like.
Walked down to Cathay and hang ard Gramaphone. (Our plan was to walk down to Orchard)
Next stop at P.S.
Von introduced me to Olivia!!! Her vocals are so good it's beyond words. All of you should take a listen. It's a gem to SG. Yes! A local singer who can finally sing decently after Ms Sun. Bought her 3rd album and I was enjoying it while putting on my lavender facial mask. Shiok!
Daiso was detrimental to our pockets. It always has been. Though the damage was only $6 but the utility value is like 0. If you knw wat I mean.
NEXT. I finally bought my "Lum Lum" !! - Soft in Cantonese. Von also got one Lum Lum but hers is a doggy but mine is an elephant. It's for the office. Guaranteed to cheer me in times of stress and gloom.
Lum Lum and Ele. Makes good brothers.
I'm so happy I could swoon. We were playing with it at BK where we had our 2nd tea break. So cute, so soft, so cuddly!!!
Walked down to centrepoint, nothing much going on till we chance upon the lion dance performance at the atrium. Lion dances are supposed to bring good luck. We just prayed earlier in the day and now we watch this performance - really makes us feel good cos it's like double fortune =)
Ate at Fish&Co for dinner. It's only my 2nd visit.. Yes I knw..And this time I finally see why the fish and chips here is much better than the one at Mahhatten Fish Market. I ordered the wrong thing from Fish&Co the 1st time and hence the misconception. The original fish and chips - what I ordered this time - is crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside.. I could also taste the freshness of the sea.. Yep.. So I will be going F&C more often now on..
Walked again to Takashimaya to get my Fortune Cat. Bought a pair for the office on Von's advice. It's for good luck plus it will add cheer to my desk.
Planning to buy a small pot of flower plant but will see how it goes. I am left with the cup and lunch pouch not bought yet.
That was the last stop and we headed home. It was supposed to end on a good note till we reached Outram station. A whole flock of those "grass jellies" came in and the train cabin was packed to the brim. I am not kidding!! If only I can take a picture and show it here. Someone was shouting, "Squeeze!.. Move in!.." In my mind I was like, "Nabei.. No space liao how to squeeze?!" (I seldom think and speak in vulgarities) It was so bad that everyone was squeezed back to back, front to front. A lady was being pushed against a "grass jelly" and she looked so poor thing I just gotta pull her nearer towards me. She was so thankful lor.. Anyway, my tolerance was stretched to the limit when I had to alight at Tiong Bahru. NO ONE GAVE WAY TO ANYBODY! wtf lor.. A few ppl and I were like saying excuse meat our loudest voice but NO ONE BULGE.. With the sensor beeping sigalling that doors were closing. I snapped.. I screamed MOVE! and shove my way through pressing my body against those black jellies to inch closer to the door. My foot somehow got tangled in those jellies' legs and my Neckerman slippers felled off! I pushed one of the jellies away, bent down and grabbed my slippers. I practically pushed myself out of the train half bare footed. All this happened in like 30 seconds. I didn't feel human, I felt like a savage being threatened of her life. I felt like a mad woman. I even grumbled, "Bunch of stupid idiots!!" under my breathe as I walked to the escalator. It was totally unglamorous!
Called HY but it only did little to quench the anger in me but I recovered in time to come.. Now as I think back.. It felt like I was transported to some 3rd world country to have experience this atrocity. It's really unfortunate that this thing happened in Singapore. I'm not racist. I think all humans deserve basic respect and I also believe in the natural goodness of humans. BUT these "jellies" should be reflect on their behavior? Even so basic thing like giving way on a crowded train should come naturally to people.
Ya lor.. A pretty good day was temporarily ruined by this episode. I hope it's going to be a one off event. Tomorrow is ME day to stay home and brush up on my excel skills.
