I spent a large part of today exploring Little India as part of my course requirement for my Special Topics in Management class (STM). Sounds interesting? Quite la.. Listened to a talk at the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple about Hinduism from 9.15 to 9.45am before the prof broke us up into our teams for our "own time own target" exploration. After that, my group took the NEL to Little India where we begin our "exploration. We were walking around quite aimlessly in the sweltering hot sun for about 10 mins before we decided the best was just to hide at an Indian restaurant just to chill out and find some direction for our project given to us.

After our short meeting, Jo, Chalene, Karin and I hanged around some more to look for beauty parlours that do facial threading. It was more like my idea but managed to tempt Jo and Chalene to do it together as well. We found this place at the 2nd level of a shophouse: SOUNIQUE. And the threading service is so cheap! Like $4 for upper lip and $6 for eyebrow threading. I did both eyebrow and upperlip and got a small discount of $1 off the usual price. The Indian lady was very skillful and she managed to make my eyebrow look more balanced - one of my brows is higher than the other naturally. But since I had too much upper lip hair, I was in spasms of pain when she did the upper lip threading for me! -_- To think I bragged about having high treshold of pain to Joanne on our way there. Was in so much pain the lady had to stop a couple of times for me to "rest" and giggle (ya... so painful that it was funny) But the overall result was WORTH IT! Now I have beautiful and hairless upper lip.. No more hair shadows. Ask me to do it again.. I will gladly do it. Yes.. Pain in the name of beauty. It's all worth it.

Later part of the day was spent walking around Mustafa with Chalene and was amused by the number of things they offer there. But it was quite uncomfortable as the walking aisle were very narrow and people keep banging their trolley against my hips lor. Pain.. I think we were more engrossed with our conversation rather than the items on display. In the end, walked 3 hours and we only buy 2 items each. We were so tired of walking and hungry, we practically crawled to our next destination at Potong Pasir for dinner. Felt a sense of relief as we finally sat down at an old school food centre for dinner.

So today had been quite an exciting day for me with 3 virgin activities: Walking around Little India, facial threading and exploring Mustafa. Whew.. I'm so happy to be home now resting my tired feet and I'm going to catch up on Grey's Anatomy Season 1. Ciao!

A random picture taken on the way back from the Potong Pasir food centre. It's a real letter box. So cool rite?!
