I've got the job offer from HP! Accepted it immediately without giving it a second thought. Of course! It's so near my house (it's at Depot Road.. like 5 stops away?!).. they offered me a reasonable salary and my to-be colleagues look like nice people get to know.
Now comes the tough part - I've gotta brush up my excel skills as there will be tons of data crunching to do. Not the most interesting job ever but I do hope I will learn something useful out of this feat. I'll be doing workforce planning, which is like a summary of recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development etc. But it's more of a data analysis and I will also work closely with the finance dept to come up wiht budgets. Synergy of accounting and HR indeed!
Finally, the job hunt is over. I will not miss filling up application forms, sending out resumes, waiting for that someone to call, waiting and more waiting. I think in total I sent out approximately 20 resumes but end up nailing the job solicited by the massive resume compilation by the school. And can you imagine my horror when I realised the first 5 cover letters I sent out were filled with mistakes?! No wonder I didn't received any calls the first week. But luckily I have got Von with her "steady pom pi pi" english to help me edit my sorry looking cover letter! Haha.. That's when the calls started to come in. But she still can't get over the fact that I got the A1 for my O levels english instead of her. Especially since she dreamt that she was the one who is getting the distinction! But it was real fun hanging out with my best friend at my house looking for job together =) It was the encouragement, the jokes and the company of soft toys that kept the spirits up! Now I'm praying and hoping that Von will nail THAT DFS job!
From now till 1 Feb I'm going to go all out and enjoy life before I slog away my youth. Teeheehee..

Bao Ya and Ele.. Our 2 lovely companions while we're out of jobs!
